The purchase of Public Fishing Rights (PFR) along the banks of area streams provides anglers with a right-of-way to these waters. Anglers and others need to keep in mind that PFR is purchased for the sole purpose of providing fishing access. Public use of PFR other than for fishing is unlawful without landowner permission.

When using PFR, be sure to keep as close to the river as possible to avoid encroaching on adjacent private lands. Anglers should request landowner permission when seeking river access where no public easement exists. Public access across private land is only provided at locations where developed footpaths are shown.
